Was annoyed as well by the plans being found on a 'British' glider not an American one as in reality.
But a minor gripe can not remember if it was in history Buffs review but saw Anthony Hopkins interviewed and John Frost was on set when he did the scene of Frost running between posts. Hopkins asked if it was accurate 'No' replied Frost ' I'd never run wouldn't want to let the bastards think I was afraid'
Think it was in Urquharts book he claims a final message was sent from the bridge it read something like 'Commander captured, all officers gone, no ammunition, position completely over run----- will continue with bayonet, God Save the King '

Think it was in Urquharts book he claims a final message was sent from the bridge it read something like 'Commander captured, all officers gone, no ammunition, position completely over run----- will continue with bayonet, God Save the King ' That's a summarily moving (and terrifying) sort of message to send - and receive... one of those small statements with so much gravity to it's meaning that it makes your hair stand on end all these years later.
