Have we lost touch? Have I alone?
Some pop-up blurb I just scrolled past, about some potentially world-war-inspiring confrontation between Ukrainian and Russian patrol boats, has made me think: Have we actually lost touch with the world around us? Once upon a (my) time, we got news from a single source: The Newspaper. The nightly news on telly might give us a quick introduction or video image, but they were never intended or expected to deliver the whole story.
When 24 hour (unheard of!) news channels became an actual thing, I was ecstatic! I can find out what's going on right now! No. What I could find out was the five second bit of information spun a hundred different ways and replayed endlessly.
So here I am. A thing has happened, I don't know what, in a political environment I don't understand, which may, or may not, have ELE ramifications.
I tell you plainly: I don't regret I won't for much longer be breathing the same air. I only hope you all find a better use for it.

Well, I think that I've seen (in myself) where access to information ≠ understanding. But as a Millennial, I find that I really don't bother with the news. I used to trust the BBC and Sky, but not so much anymore. Hopefully you'll be breathing the same air for some time yet!
