Thought not a "fun" movie, I'm going to put this one out here, as I just mentioned it in another thread. In my opinion this is the best of the Russian war movies. No politics here. Just single people on a single day. (It's on YouTube with English subtitles, but I'm only putting the trailer here. Pretty outstanding trailer too, if you ask me).

Stumbled across this rather strange but quite delightful romp. Not really sure how to label it. I suppose "black comedy" would fit best. The tone is light, but it takes some decidedly dark turns. The humour is like a good white wine - very dry and quite refreshing.

This is one of my favourite sci-fi movies. It's 1986's Short Circuit reimagined in a crumbling post-apartheid South Africa. Two of the principal characters are barely shown in the trailer however. South African avant-garde rappers Ninja and Yolandi of the duet Die Antwoord play themselves and they are both amazing. Their pastel guns are surreal.

This is the movie that was inspired by an unknown song by an unknown band. One of my favourite films with a really stellar soundtrack.
Brie Larson does her own singing in this movie and she's simply amazing.
